In a tragic incident, eight Odia pilgrims reportedly died after the car they were travelling in was swept away by strong currents in a drain near Nalkheda in Agar Malwa district of Madhya Pradesh.
According to the information available, the incident took place near the Maa Baglamukhi Temple. The pilgrims were reportedly travelling towards Nalkheda for darshan when their car fell into the drain.
Heavy rainfall in the area had caused the drain to fill up, resulting in a strong flow of water. The car carrying the pilgrims was swept away in the water, leading to the deaths of all eight people travelling in the vehicle.
The deceased reportedly include three children, two women and three men. All of them were from Odisha and had travelled to Madhya Pradesh on a pilgrimage.
Heavy Rainfall Triggered Strong Water Current
The area reportedly received heavy rainfall during the night, causing water levels in the drain to rise significantly. While the car was passing through the area, it reportedly slipped into the water and was swept away by the strong current.
Pilgrims Had Travelled From Bhubaneswar
According to the information available, the group of eight Odia pilgrims had travelled from Bhubaneswar to Madhya Pradesh for the pilgrimage. The tragic incident has left their families and relatives in deep shock.
