Aamir responded to the popular belief that Bollywood may struggle to find superstars once he, Salman Khan, and Shah Rukh Khan reduce their workload.
Referring humorously to a scene in the blockbuster Pathaan, where Salman and Shah Rukh joked about being irreplaceable, Aamir said he does not share that sentiment.
“There were stars before us, and there will be stars after us,” he said, calling the idea that the era of superstars is ending “complete nonsense.”
Praises New-Age Actors
Highlighting the strong box office performances of recent films, Aamir praised several younger actors who have emerged as major crowd-pullers.
He cited Vicky Kaushal for his performance in Chhaava, Ranbir Kapoor for Animal, and Ranveer Singh for Dhurandhar.
According to Aamir, these actors have already carved out their own identities and demonstrated the ability to balance talent with commercial success. He even joked that today’s newcomers are more talented than he was at the start of his own career.
Changing Landscape of Bollywood
The comments come at a time when Bollywood is undergoing significant transformation, with evolving audience tastes, pan-India storytelling, and stronger competition from streaming platforms.
Aamir emphasised that every generation produces its own stars through dedication and hard work. He expressed optimism that the industry’s future remains bright, driven by a new crop of actors who are both critically acclaimed and commercially viable.
As Hindi cinema adapts to changing trends, Aamir’s remarks underline a broader belief — that stardom may evolve, but it will never disappear.
