Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has broken his silence over criticism regarding his delayed response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. The actor clarified that the delay was not related to the promotion of his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par, but rather due to his limited activity on social media.
Aamir Khan: “I’m Not Active Online”
Addressing the backlash, Khan stated, “I am not active on social media, which is why it took me some time to respond. It had nothing to do with the trailer launch or the film’s promotions.” He firmly denied speculations that suggested his silence was intentional or strategic.
Actor Cites History of Patriotic Films
Aamir Khan also reminded critics of his long-standing contributions to patriotic cinema. He referenced legendary filmmaker Manoj Kumar, who once praised him for promoting nationalistic values through films like Lagaan and Rang De Basanti.
“Patriotism has always been close to my heart and a key theme in many of my films,” Khan emphasized.
Focus Should Be on the Investigation, Says Khan’s Team
Following the Pahalgam attack, several netizens questioned why Khan hadn’t issued a public statement sooner. In response, his team urged the public and media to focus on the ongoing investigation rather than social media discourse.
“The priority should be justice for the victims and uncovering the truth, not debating celebrity reactions,” a spokesperson for the actor stated.
Police Continue Probe into Pahalgam Attack
The investigation into the Pahalgam terror attack is still underway. Authorities have yet to reveal detailed findings, and security has been heightened in the region as a precautionary measure.
