Case Linked to Alleged Multiple Voter ID Registrations
Popular actor Prakash Raj has landed in legal trouble after a Bengaluru court issued a non-bailable warrant against him in connection with allegations of having voter registrations in multiple states.
The case relates to an accusation that Prakash Raj was registered as a voter in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and other states, allegedly holding multiple voter identity cards. The complaint was filed in 2019 by advocate Dilip Kumar, who claimed that the actor had violated election rules by having more than one voter registration.
Court Issues Warrant After Repeated Absence
According to reports, the 48th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Bengaluru had issued several summons to Prakash Raj, asking him to appear before the court during the hearing of the case. However, he reportedly failed to appear on the scheduled dates.
Following his repeated absence despite multiple summons, the court issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against him. After the issuance of the warrant, discussions have emerged that the actor could face arrest at any time.
Allegations Not Yet Proven in Court
Under Indian election laws, a citizen is allowed to register as a voter only at one location and can possess only one valid voter ID card. The investigation into the alleged violation is currently underway.
However, the allegations against Prakash Raj have not yet been proven in court, and the legal proceedings are still continuing. The actor has denied the allegations, stating that he votes only in Bengaluru.
The next stage of the case will become clearer after Prakash Raj appears before the court and the further legal process moves ahead.
