Focus on 100% Enrolment and Joyful Learning
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated the state-level Pravesh Utsav and Khadi Chhuan programme, marking the beginning of the academic journey for young children. The event aims to ensure 100% enrolment while promoting a positive and engaging learning environment free from fear.
CM Personally Initiates Learning for Children
At the Raj Bhavan Government Upper Primary School, the Chief Minister warmly interacted with children and helped them begin their education by guiding them to write “Mother” and “Father” on slates. His friendly interaction—asking about their families and daily habits—created a comfortable atmosphere, making learning enjoyable for first-time students.
Massive Outreach to Boost Enrolment
To encourage school enrolment, around 5 lakh invitation cards have been distributed across the state this year. The government has been celebrating the beginning of education as a festival in every village and locality, motivating parents to enrol their children in schools.
Promoting Odisha’s Cultural and Educational Values
Highlighting the cultural significance of Khadi Chhuan, the Chief Minister said the tradition has been formally integrated into government initiatives since last year. He stressed that efforts are being made to instill curiosity and respect for education among children, rather than fear.
Call for Public Participation in Education Movement
The Chief Minister urged media and citizens to help transform the education drive into a mass movement. “No child should be deprived of education,” he emphasized, calling education the true wealth of society.
Support from Leaders and Officials
The programme was attended by School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond and other public representatives. The event also saw the launch of an education awareness vehicle, reinforcing the state’s commitment to inclusive and accessible education for all children.
