Governor Hosts Banquet for Vice President at Lok Bhavan, Presents Silver Filigree Rath Mementoes

CM Mohan Majhi, Union Ministers and Top Dignitaries Attend Ceremony; Vice President Presented with Tarakasi Rath Memento

Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati hosted a formal banquet at the New Abhishek Hall in Lok Bhavan in honour of Vice President of India C. P. Radhakrishnan during his one-day visit to the state. First Lady of Odisha Jayashree Kambhampati was present on the occasion.

The banquet was attended by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Rajiv Ranjan Singh (Lalan Singh), Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Prof. S. P. Singh Baghel, Odisha Legislative Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy, Deputy Speaker Bhabani Shankar Bhoi and several members of the state cabinet.

Among those present were Law, Works and Excise Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, Higher Education, Sports & Youth Services and Odia Language, Literature and Culture Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, Co-operation, Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts Minister Pradeep Bal Samanta, Fisheries and Animal Resources Development and MSME Minister Gokulananda Mallik, Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Development Commissioner Deoranjan Kumar Singh, Director General of Police Y.B. Khurania and other senior officials.

The gathering provided an opportunity for constitutional authorities, political leaders and senior bureaucrats to interact with the Vice President during his visit to Odisha.

Following the banquet, Governor Kambhampati presented the Vice President and other dignitaries with handcrafted Tarakasi (silver filigree) mementoes depicting the sacred chariot of Lord Jagannath. The gifts showcased Odisha’s renowned silver filigree craftsmanship of Cuttack and reflected the state’s rich artistic and cultural heritage.

The event highlighted Odisha’s traditional hospitality while offering distinguished guests a glimpse of the state’s centuries-old cultural legacy through one of its most celebrated handicrafts.
