The death of renowned Odia versatile singer Humane Sagar has taken a dramatic turn, with fresh controversy emerging after one of the complainants publicly spoke out, raising serious questions and calling for deeper police investigation.
Orchestra Owner Mohammad Abid Speaks Out
Mohammad Abid, an orchestra owner and one of the nine individuals named in the case, has become the first complainant to speak publicly. Claiming to have worked closely with Humane Sagar, Abid said he possesses information related to both the singer’s personal and professional life, which he plans to share directly with the police.
Abid stated that his disclosures would have significant implications for the ongoing investigation.
Three Individuals Named for Police Scrutiny
Abid has made it clear that he intends to speak to the police specifically regarding three individuals — singer Arpita Choudhury, manager Dinesh Behera and studio owner Somesh Satpathy. According to him, the facts he intends to present may require further and more detailed investigation by the authorities.
Questions Raised Over Relationships, Finances and Work Pressure
Quoting Abid, local media reports suggest that the investigation should examine multiple aspects, including Humane Sagar’s relationship with Arpita Choudhury, any financial transactions involved, funds allegedly given to a studio, the length and nature of Dinesh Behera’s association with the singer, and whether Sagar was under pressure to perform despite being unwell.
Abid indicated that these elements could help clarify circumstances surrounding the singer’s final days.
Call for Fair and Thorough Investigation
Maintaining that he would provide only “truthful” statements, Abid said he has full faith that a proper investigation would bring facts to light. He urged the police to conduct the probe with complete integrity.
“Once the investigation starts, the truth will come to light, and the people who deserve to be punished will be punished,” he was quoted as saying.
