NCB Busts Rs 182 Crore Drug Consignment Under ‘Operation Ragelpill’

India has achieved a major breakthrough in its fight against international drug syndicates and terror financing networks. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has seized ‘Captagon’ drugs for the first time in the country during a massive anti-drug operation.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah informed on Saturday that the NCB, under “Operation Ragelpill,” seized a huge quantity of Captagon tablets worth nearly Rs 182 crore.

Captagon is widely referred to as a “jihadi drug” because of its alleged links to terrorist organisations and terror funding networks operating in the Middle East.

Amit Shah Reaffirms Zero Tolerance Policy Against Drugs

In a post on social media platform X, Amit Shah stated that the busting of an international drug trafficking route connected to the Middle East demonstrates India’s zero-tolerance policy against narcotics.

He said every drug consignment entering India or passing through the country for international trafficking would be intercepted and seized.

The Home Minister also praised the NCB for its coordinated action against global narcotics operations.

International Drug Trafficker Mohammed Salim Dola Arrested

In another major success, the NCB managed to bring back international drug trafficker Mohammed Salim Dola from Turkey.

Based on Indian intelligence inputs and an Interpol Red Corner Notice, Turkish authorities detained the 58-year-old accused on April 25.

After being brought to India under “Operation Global Hunt,” Dola was arrested at Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Accused Was Operating Global Drug Syndicate

Officials said Dola had fled India nearly eight years ago and later shifted to the United Arab Emirates to evade arrest.

He was reportedly caught in Turkey while visiting Istanbul in 2024. Last year, his son had also been extradited from the UAE to India.

Investigators revealed that after his son’s arrest, Dola cut off communication with family members and associates to avoid capture.

The accused was wanted in multiple narcotics smuggling cases in India and allegedly operated a multinational drug trafficking syndicate spread across the Middle East, Africa and Europe.
