More than 40 people fell ill after allegedly consuming contaminated dahi bara in Patpur village under Dasarathpur block of Jajpur district. The incident has triggered panic in the area, with many villagers reporting symptoms of food poisoning.

Villagers Develop Symptoms Hours After Consumption
According to reports, hundreds of villagers had consumed dahi bara purchased from a vendor of a nearby village on Saturday morning. By late night, several people began experiencing severe stomach pain, followed by vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal discomfort.

Patients Admitted to Nearby Health Centres
As the number of affected individuals increased, they were rushed to the Dasarathpur Community Health Centre for treatment. However, due to limited facilities and bed shortages, more than 30 patients were later shifted to the Jajpur District Headquarters Hospital for better medical care.

Health Officials Rush to the Spot
Chief District Medical Officer Bijay Kumar Mishra reached the hospital and reviewed the situation. Medical teams are closely monitoring the condition of the patients, and necessary treatment is being provided.

Investigation Underway
Health authorities suspect food contamination as the likely cause of the incident. An investigation has been initiated to determine the exact source and ensure preventive measures to avoid such occurrences in the future.
