Congress Stages Protest Over Private Member’s Bill
The seventh day of the Winter Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly witnessed chaos right from the beginning of Question Hour. Congress MLAs created an uproar demanding to know why the Private Member’s Bill was not taken up on Monday. The party accused the government of deliberately avoiding discussion.

House Adjourned Till 11:30 AM Amid Sloganeering
Following continuous sloganeering and disruption, the House was adjourned till 11:30 AM. Congress legislators trooped into the Well of the House, shouting slogans, crowding near the Speaker’s podium, and demanding the resignation of the Speaker.

Congress Questions Non-Discussion of Reservation Resolution
Congress members protested strongly over the non-discussion of their resolution aimed at implementing reservation in professional, medical, vocational education, and government recruitment. The party alleged that their Private Member’s Resolution was ignored without valid reason.

₹340.95 Crore EV Subsidy Yet to Be Fully Disbursed
Meanwhile, a written reply by Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena revealed that the state government has not yet completed the disbursal of subsidy amounting to ₹340 crore 95 lakh 75 thousand 481 under the electric vehicle (EV) scheme.

Over 2.19 Lakh EVs Registered in Odisha
According to the Minister’s reply in the Assembly, Odisha currently has 2,19,677 registered electric vehicles. Government departments and institutions have so far purchased 680 EVs for official use.

12 EV Charging Stations Set Up in Bhubaneswar
To strengthen the EV ecosystem, the government has installed 12 electric vehicle charging stations at various locations across Bhubaneswar.
