Odisha has approved 27 major investment projects worth ₹2,47,115.70 crore across 15 districts at the 46th meeting of the High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA), chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
The approved projects have a potential to generate 50,162 jobs and cover sectors including data centres, artificial intelligence, power, steel, semiconductors, green energy, healthcare, chemicals, textiles and advanced manufacturing.
Data centres and digital infrastructure emerged as the largest investment segment, with four projects involving around ₹1,42,941 crore. High Density Data Centre Limited will set up an integrated data centre in Khordha with an investment of ₹1,04,550 crore, while HCL Technologies will establish an AI-optimised data centre with an investment of ₹14,257 crore.
The power and renewable energy sector received approvals worth ₹54,287.70 crore. NLC India will establish thermal power plants in Debagada and Angul with combined investments of over ₹46,000 crore.
Steel projects by Rungta Mines and Shakambhari Ispat & Power in Sundargarh involve ₹14,000 crore and could generate 17,000 jobs.
Other major approvals include projects by Tata Steel, Larsen & Toubro, Adani Foundation and SICSEM.
Chief Minister Majhi said the government’s focus is on attracting investment, creating quality employment and promoting balanced regional industrial development.
