Transport Minister Bibhuti Jena made the announcement following consultations with petrol dealers, oil companies, and transport officials. From January 1, 2026, petrol pumps in Odisha were set to strictly enforce PUC certificate verification before dispensing fuel. Vehicles without a valid PUC certificate were not to receive petrol or diesel.
