Results Announced by Board Officials
The results of the Class 10 (Matric) Examination 2026 conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Odisha have been officially declared. The results were released in the presence of School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond and senior board officials at the board headquarters in Cuttack.
High Pass Percentage Recorded This Year
Addressing the media, the minister stated that the overall pass percentage stands at an impressive 95.33%. A total of 5,19,251 students have successfully passed the examination this year.
Grade-wise Performance Overview
The performance distribution among top grades is as follows:
- A1: 2,453 students
- A2: 15,684 students
- B1: 43,565 students
- B2: 86,103 students
While the majority of students cleared the exam, around 17,055 candidates failed. Notably, 2,310 schools recorded a 100% pass rate, while three schools reported zero success.
Girls Outperform Boys Again
Continuing the trend, girls have outperformed boys in the 2026 matric results. A total of 2,63,152 girls passed the exam compared to 2,56,099 boys, reflecting better overall performance by female students.
District-wise Performance Highlights
Gajapati district recorded the highest pass percentage at 99.31%, while Keonjhar district reported the lowest at 94.35%.
Results Available Online and via SMS
Students can check their results online by visiting the official website (www.bseodisha.ac.in) and entering their roll number and name. Additionally, results can be accessed via SMS by typing OR10<RollNo> and sending it to 5676750.
Certificates to Be Issued in Odia for the First Time
In a significant move, students will receive their certificates in the Odia language for the first time, along with English details as before.
Exam Conduct and Evaluation Process
The matric exams were held from February 19 to March 2, 2026. This year, 5,61,979 students appeared for the exam across 3,082 centers. The evaluation of answer sheets was carried out at 51 centers by around 15,000 teachers.

With results now out, students are encouraged to carefully choose their academic streams in higher secondary education. Experts also suggest considering skill-based or high-salary-oriented courses alongside regular studies for better career opportunities.
