The Odisha Police Operations Wing has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State Bank of India (SBI) to provide additional financial benefits and security measures to personnel of the Odisha Special Striking Force (OSSF).
The MoU was signed at the Operations Headquarters in Bhubaneswar. Director General of Police (Anti-Naxal Operations) Sanjeeb Panda attended the programme as the chief guest and thanked SBI for extending the facilities to OSSF personnel deployed in difficult and remote areas.
Panda said the additional benefits would help boost the morale of the personnel, particularly those engaged in anti-Naxal operations under challenging conditions. The facilities will be available in addition to the benefits provided by the government.
IGP (Operations) Dr Deepak Kumar signed the MoU on behalf of Odisha Police, while SBI DGM Ashish Kumar Mishra signed it on behalf of the bank.
At present, around 4,000 former armed forces and CAPF personnel are serving across four OSSF battalions in Odisha. They are deployed in various areas, particularly in anti-Naxal operations.
Under SBI’s Corporate Salary Package, OSSF personnel will receive several benefits, including accident insurance cover of up to Rs 50 lakh, air ambulance expenses of up to Rs 10 lakh, assistance of up to Rs 10 lakh for children’s higher education and plastic surgery coverage of up to Rs 10 lakh.
The package also includes ‘Riste Account’ facilities for family members, personal loans and optional health insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh at an annual premium of Rs 1,999.
Senior OSSF, SOG and SBI officials were present at the MoU signing ceremony.
