State Showcases Strength in Skill Development Ecosystem
Bhubaneswar, April 3, 2026: Odisha has emerged as the top-performing state at IndiaSkills 2025–26, securing the highest medal tally with a total of 57 medals. The national championship concluded at the India Expo Centre & Mart, where participants from across the country competed in diverse skill categories.
Leadership Driving Youth Empowerment
Under the leadership of Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Sampad Chandra Swain, the state has focused on empowering youth through future-ready skill development initiatives. The Minister congratulated the winners, stating that the achievement reflects Odisha’s high training standards, strong institutional support, and commitment to excellence.
Impressive Medal Haul by Odisha Participants
Out of 90 participants representing Odisha, 57 competitors secured top honours, including 15 Gold, 12 Silver, and 14 Bronze medals. Additionally, 16 participants earned Medallions for Excellence. The winners received a grand welcome upon arrival at Biju Patnaik International Airport, marking a proud moment for the state.
Officials Applaud Outstanding Performance
Senior officials including Bhupendra Singh Poonia, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, and Rashmi Ranjan Mohapatra, CEO of the World Skill Center, praised the participants for their dedication, discipline, and technical expertise.
National Platform, Global Aspirations
Organised by the National Skill Development Corporation, IndiaSkills 2025–26 saw over 650 candidates competing across sectors such as construction, manufacturing, ICT, creative arts, and services. The top performers will now represent India at the WorldSkills Competition, aiming to bring global recognition to the country.
