A tragic industrial accident on Monday afternoon claimed multiple lives after a cold storage facility collapsed in Chandpur village of Prayagraj district, leaving several workers trapped under debris.
Explosion Leads to Roof Collapse
The incident occurred following a suspected explosion in an ammonia gas tank inside the cold storage unit. The blast caused the roof to cave in अचानक, trapping nearly 20 workers who were present inside the facility at the time.
Casualties and Rescue Efforts
According to officials, at least 9 workers have been confirmed dead, while several others remain feared trapped under the rubble. Rescue operations are currently underway, with teams from the fire department, police, and local administration working tirelessly at the site.
However, ongoing ammonia gas leakage has made rescue efforts extremely challenging, as teams are unable to safely enter certain sections of the building.
