A grand celebration is being planned in Odisha as the BJP government in the state is set to complete two years in office on June 12. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to attend the programme and address a public gathering during the occasion.
The event is expected to highlight the state government’s achievements and future roadmap under the vision of “Viksit Odisha, Viksit Bharat”.
CM Mohan Majhi Confirms PM’s Visit
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi confirmed Prime Minister Modi’s proposed visit while attending an ABVP civic felicitation programme on Friday.
The Chief Minister said he had met the Prime Minister in New Delhi four days ago and personally invited him to attend the second anniversary celebrations of the Odisha government.
Majhi said Prime Minister Modi had earlier attended the first anniversary programme of the BJP government in Odisha and guided the state administration. Following the invitation, the Prime Minister’s Office has reportedly given a positive response regarding the visit.
According to the Chief Minister, the Prime Minister is expected to visit Odisha very soon.
High-Level Review Meeting Held at Lok Seva Bhavan
The Chief Minister also held a detailed review meeting with secretaries of various departments at Lok Seva Bhavan regarding preparations for the anniversary programme.
During the meeting, discussions were held on the achievements and success stories of different departments over the past two years. Officials also reviewed challenges being faced in implementing various government schemes and projects.
The government is reportedly planning to showcase major developmental achievements during the event.
Big Announcements Likely During PM’s Programme
Sources said the Odisha government is planning to announce one or two major welfare schemes during the Prime Minister’s programme.
Departments have been asked to submit proposals for schemes that would benefit the maximum number of people. The selected schemes are likely to be announced by Prime Minister Modi during the event.
Apart from new schemes, several projects may also be inaugurated and foundation stones laid during the programme.
Departments Asked to Prepare Project Lists
All departments have been instructed to prepare lists of projects and schemes within a week for inclusion in the anniversary celebrations.
The proposals are expected to align with the state government’s long-term “Developed Odisha 2036” vision.
Officials said the final date of the programme will depend on Prime Minister Modi’s tour schedule, though the BJP government officially completes its second year in office on June 12.
