PM Modi Likely to Visit President Murmu’s Native Village in Mayurbhanj on June 20

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Odisha in the third week of June and may travel to Pahadpur, the native village of President Droupadi Murmu, according to state Forest and Environment Minister Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia.

PM Expected to Visit Rairangpur and Pahadpur

Speaking about the proposed visit, Minister Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia said that the Prime Minister is scheduled to visit Mayurbhanj district on June 19 and 20. During the visit, Modi is expected to arrive in Rairangpur and travel to Pahadpur, the native village of President Droupadi Murmu.

The minister noted that the Prime Minister had expressed his desire to visit the village during an earlier interaction and that preparations are underway for the proposed tour.

Foundation Stone for Forest Management Institute

The minister further stated that the Prime Minister may lay the foundation stone for the Indian Institute of Forest Management project at Suliduma under Kusumi Block in Mayurbhanj district.

He expressed hope that the Prime Minister’s visit would accelerate development activities in the district and bring greater attention to infrastructure and institutional projects in the region.

President Murmu Also Scheduled to Visit

Mayurbhanj MP Naba Charan Majhi said that President Droupadi Murmu is expected to visit Rairangpur on June 19 and travel to Pahadpur.

According to the MP, information received from Rashtrapati Bhavan indicates that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also likely to visit Rairangpur on June 20.

Launch of Development Projects Likely

During their visit, the President and the Prime Minister may inaugurate and lay foundation stones for several development projects. They are also expected to address a public gathering in the region.

After completing his engagements in Rairangpur, the Prime Minister is likely to travel to Bhubaneswar for additional official programmes.

Visit Linked to Mohan Government’s Two-Year Milestone

The proposed visit comes as the government led by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi prepares to complete two years in office on June 12.

During a recent visit to New Delhi, the Chief Minister had invited Prime Minister Modi to Odisha. Following the invitation, the state administration has reportedly begun preparations for the high-profile visit.

The Prime Minister’s tour is expected to be significant both politically and developmentally, with major announcements and project launches likely during the visit.
