At this rate, people like me have to choose between the grey market and watching later shows at regular state-managed prices,” he said.

Industry analysts predict a tight box-office contest—Coolie banking on Rajinikanth’s legendary status, and War 2 riding the success of its predecessor and the combined star power of Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. A Chennai-based exhibitor noted that while the audience base for both films overlaps, the release-day collision will inevitably force a division of screens and viewership.
