Massive Direct Benefit Transfer Scheduled

More than 1 crore 20 lakh women in Odisha will receive the fourth installment of funds under the Subhadra Yojana on Monday. The announcement was made by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Friday. According to her, the state government will transfer over ₹5,000 crore directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts as part of this installment.

Scheme Expands with New Beneficiaries

The latest disbursement will also include 2.13 lakh new beneficiaries, significantly expanding the program’s coverage. Officials noted that the beneficiary list remains dynamic to ensure that eligible women continue to be included in the scheme.

Parida explained that the process is continuous and adaptive, ensuring that women receive support at appropriate stages of their lives.

Dynamic Eligibility System

Explaining the structure of the program, Parida said that women turning 21 years old become eligible for inclusion in the Subhadra Yojana, while those crossing the age of 60 transition to pension schemes. This mechanism allows the government to maintain uninterrupted financial support for women across different life stages.

Financial Support for Women’s Empowerment

The Subhadra Yojana was launched to provide ₹50,000 to eligible women between the ages of 21 and 60 over a five-year period. The initiative is considered one of the state government’s key programs aimed at promoting economic independence and gender equality.

Direct Transfers to Ensure Transparency

Officials confirmed that funds are distributed through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, allowing money to be credited directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts. This method helps reduce delays and improves transparency in the distribution process.

With the latest installment, the scheme continues to reach millions of women across the state. Many beneficiaries have described the program as transformative for household finances, especially at a time when rising living costs are affecting families.
