Wild Elephant Enters Angul Town

Panic gripped Angul after a lone tusker entered the town area early in the morning and caused damage inside the Police Training College campus.

According to reports, the elephant entered the premises at dawn and damaged several trees within the campus. The animal also destroyed gardens and property inside the police colony, creating fear among residents and officials.

Elephant Currently Near PTC Hospital Area

Forest officials said the tusker is currently staying in an open field behind the PTC Hospital area. Authorities are closely monitoring its movement to prevent any untoward incident.

Teams from the Angul Forest Division, along with the Rapid Response Team and police personnel, have been deployed at the spot to ensure the safety of both the elephant and local residents.

Forest Department Issues Public Warning

Considering the possibility of the elephant changing its movement route after evening, the Forest Department has issued a public alert in nearby areas.

Officials are using loudspeakers to advise residents not to step outside unnecessarily and to remain cautious until the situation is brought under control.

High Vigil Continues in Sensitive Areas

The presence of the tusker inside a populated urban area has increased concern among local residents. Forest officials stated that the elephant may attempt to move towards nearby forest areas after dark, and continuous surveillance is being maintained.

Police and forest staff are jointly working to keep people away from the elephant’s movement zone and avoid any human-animal conflict.

Residents Asked to Remain Alert

Authorities have appealed to people not to panic, avoid crowding near the elephant and immediately inform officials about any movement of the animal.

The situation remains under close watch as the forest department continues efforts to safely guide the tusker away from residential areas.
