In a significant development amid the ongoing Aravalli hills controversy, the Supreme Court has clarified that its earlier directions issued on November 20 regarding the Aravalli range will not be implemented until the next hearing of the case. The apex court has scheduled the next hearing for January 21, and ordered that the status quo be maintained until then.

Court Seeks Detailed and Independent Review

During the proceedings, the Chief Justice of India remarked that enforcing the November 20 directions without a thorough and independent report would be premature. The court reiterated that all critical aspects must be evaluated in depth to avoid unintended consequences.

Until the next hearing on January 21, the Supreme Court directed that the existing situation be maintained, ensuring that no irreversible steps are taken.
