The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is set to begin operations in Bhubaneswar. As per a notification from the State Home Department, the station will temporarily function near Tarini Peeth in VSS Nagar. An SP-rank officer will lead the unit. Cases will now be registered at the Bhubaneswar NIA station instead of Delhi, particularly those related to terrorism, Maoist activities, counterfeit currency, hijackings, and national security.
