According to reports, doctors removed a metal plate that had been inserted in his hand following an earlier injury. His condition is reportedly stable, and he is recovering.

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari also visited Mithun Chakraborty and spoke to him about his health. In a social media post, Adhikari said he met the veteran actor at the hospital and wished him a speedy recovery.

Mithun Chakraborty, a recipient of the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award, is not only a celebrated figure in Indian cinema but also a prominent BJP leader in West Bengal. He has remained actively associated with the party and campaigned extensively during the 2026 Assembly elections.
