Revenue Minister Diagnosed with CAD and Triple Vessel Disease; Condition Reported Stable

Odisha Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari has been shifted from AIIMS Bhubaneswar to AIIMS Delhi for advanced medical treatment following a cardiac diagnosis. He was transferred at around 9 am today on the advice of attending doctors.

Pujari had been admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar a few days ago after experiencing severe chest pain on Tuesday evening. Following preliminary treatment, he was kept under observation in the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTV) ICU. A specialized medical team closely monitored his condition and conducted multiple tests.

Diagnosed with Coronary Artery Disease

Doctors at AIIMS Bhubaneswar diagnosed him with Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) and Triple Vessel Disease (TVD). Given the complexity of his condition, medical experts recommended his transfer to AIIMS Delhi for higher-level treatment and specialized care.

Hospital sources said that his condition is currently stable and he remains under strict medical supervision.

A Veteran Leader with a Long Political Career

Born on July 29, 1960, Suresh Pujari is a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and currently serves as Odisha’s Revenue and Disaster Management Minister. A resident of Sambalpur district, he has previously served as a Member of Parliament and also as the BJP’s Odisha state president.

His political journey began during his college years when he was elected student union president in 1980. Over the decades, he has actively participated in student movements, farmers’ agitations, and trade union activities. He is also associated with social organizations such as ‘Yuba Udayan’ and ‘Utsarga.’

As he undergoes treatment in New Delhi, party leaders and supporters across Odisha have expressed concern and wished for his speedy recovery.
