The National Secretariat of CPI described the dialogue as a reaffirmation that India and China, two of the world’s most ancient civilizations, are “destined to be partners, not rivals.”

Building Bridges amid Political Tensions

The CPI underscored that this renewed dialogue represents a commitment to enhancing understanding across political, economic, cultural, and people-to-people levels—helping not just the two nations, but strengthening the unity of the Global South and advancing multipolarity in international relations.

Peaceful Resolution of Border Challenges

Expressing satisfaction with both sides showing political will to resolve long-standing border disputes—a legacy of colonialism—CPI lauded the emphasis on peaceful, negotiated outcomes and mutual respect as vital for regional peace, stability, and development.

A Counter to U.S. Tariff Aggression

At a time when “imperialist forces seek to divide and dominate,” the CPI warned that President Donald Trump’s steep tariffs on Indian goods, including an effective 50% levy, have backfired—driving India closer to China instead of aligning it with the U.S.

This deepening India–China cooperation sends a strategic signal to Washington: protectionist tactics are not as effective when regional powers unite. China’s call for solidarity—urging India and China to stand together against U.S. “abuse of tariffs”—reflects a growing alignment among major developing nations
The Indian Express

Economic Reinforcement and A Rethink for the U.S.

Analysts note that stronger trade and strategic ties between India and China could undermine U.S. influence. As one editorial put it, Trump’s tariff war has ironically strengthened Beijing’s push for a global order independent of U.S. dominance—a “reverse Nixon” scenario

CPI’s Call to the People

In light of this shifting geopolitical landscape, CPI called on all sections of Indian society to support this positive momentum, framing the India–China partnership as a cornerstone of regional peace and equitable international relations.
