Expressing satisfaction with both sides showing political will to resolve long-standing border disputes—a legacy of colonialism—CPI lauded the emphasis on peaceful, negotiated outcomes and mutual respect as vital for regional peace, stability, and development.

At a time when “imperialist forces seek to divide and dominate,” the CPI warned that President Donald Trump’s steep tariffs on Indian goods, including an effective 50% levy, have backfired—driving India closer to China instead of aligning it with the U.S.
