A new political chapter has begun in Bihar as Samrat Choudhary took oath as the Chief Minister on Wednesday. The swearing-in ceremony was held at Lok Bhavan in Patna, marking what many are calling the start of the “Samrat era” in the state’s politics.

Alongside Samrat Choudhary, Vijay Choudhary and Vijendra Yadav took oath as Deputy Chief Ministers. The formation of the new government under the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has begun, though 33 cabinet positions are yet to be filled.

First BJP Chief Minister in Bihar’s History
In a historic development, this marks the first time a leader from the Bharatiya Janata Party has assumed the post of Chief Minister in Bihar. The NDA had earlier elected Samrat Choudhary as the leader of its legislative party, paving the way for his elevation.

After taking oath, Samrat Choudhary expressed gratitude to Nitish Kumar for proposing his name and extending support. He emphasized his commitment to accelerating Bihar’s development, ensuring progress, and delivering good governance with renewed energy and collective support from all leaders.

Temple Visit Before Oath Ceremony
Before the swearing-in, Samrat Choudhary visited a temple to offer prayers, seeking blessings ahead of taking charge as the state’s 24th Chief Minister.

The ceremony witnessed several the presence of prominent leaders, including BJP national president J. P. Nadda, Chirag Paswan, and Jitan Ram Manjhi, reflecting the significance of the political transition in Bihar.
