Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the first phase of the Noida International Airport, marking a significant step in boosting infrastructure and connectivity in western Uttar Pradesh.

Sharp Criticism of Previous Governments

During the event, PM Modi criticized earlier governments, saying the project was delayed for years despite receiving clearance in 2003 under former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He alleged that the project remained stalled due to political obstacles.

Boost to Connectivity and Economic Growth

The Prime Minister emphasized that the airport will enhance connectivity across regions such as Agra, Mathura, Aligarh, Ghaziabad, Meerut, and Faridabad, while creating new economic opportunities for farmers, small businesses, and youth.

Airport to Become a Major Aviation Hub

PM Modi highlighted the vision of operating one flight every two minutes from the airport, calling it a symbol of a “developed Uttar Pradesh” and a major aviation hub for the region.

The new airport is expected to significantly boost trade, tourism, and job opportunities, strengthening both the Uttar Pradesh economy and the National Capital Region (NCR).

Focus on Global Challenges and India’s Growth

Referring to global geopolitical tensions and fuel price concerns, PM Modi assured that India would continue its development journey and protect farmers and citizens from external economic shocks.

Cultural Gesture and Presence of Leaders

Before the inauguration, PM Modi was presented with a sacred artifact of Lord Buddha. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also attended the event, witnessing the landmark launch.
