In a major relief for beneficiaries, Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida has announced that the application deadline for the Subhadra Scheme may be extended by an additional five days if required. The move aims to ensure that all eligible women can successfully complete their registration process without facing technical difficulties.

Who Can Apply

Earlier, Pravati Parida had said that women aged between 21 and 60 years would be eligible to apply for the scheme from April 1, 2026. However, only those women who have not applied previously are allowed to submit fresh applications during this period. Applications submitted earlier will not be reconsidered.

Financial Assistance Details

Eligible beneficiaries under the Subhadra Scheme will receive financial assistance of ₹10,000 per year. This amount will be disbursed in two installments annually, starting from the financial year 2026–27 and continuing for the duration of the scheme.

Application Timeline and Low Response

The application window for new beneficiaries is currently open from April 1 to April 30. Despite half of the timeline already passing, the number of new applicants remains relatively low. The Deputy Chief Minister has urged eligible women, especially those who have recently turned 21, to apply within the stipulated period to avail the benefits.

Possible Extension Due to Technical Issues

Highlighting concerns about technical glitches during the application process, Pravati Parida stated that the deadline could be extended by five more days if necessary. This step would help ensure that no eligible applicant is left out due to system-related issues.

How to Apply

New applications can be submitted through Common Service Centres (CSCs) and Ama Seva Kendras via the Subhadra portal. Additionally, application forms will be provided free of cost at all Anganwadi centres and CDPO offices.
