72 Hours Crucial for Survival, Say Doctors

Renowned Odia playback singer Human Sagar (36) remains in an extremely critical condition at the Medicine ICU of AIIMS Bhubaneswar, with doctors declaring the next 72 hours as decisive for his survival.

The singer was admitted to the emergency department on Thursday at 1:10 PM after his health deteriorated sharply.

Multiple Life-Threatening Complications Diagnosed

According to the medical team, Human Sagar is suffering from a combination of severe and complex health issues, including:

  • Multi-Organ Dysfunction Syndrome (MODS)

  • Acute-on-chronic liver failure

  • Bilateral pneumonia

  • Dilated cardiomyopathy with severely reduced heart pumping function

  • Clotting disorders affecting the brain, lungs, kidneys, liver, and blood pressure regulation

He is currently on non-invasive ventilator support and being treated under the supervision of senior intensivist and ECMO specialist Dr. Srikant Behera. Despite intensive treatment, doctors confirmed that no improvement has been observed in the past 24 hours.

Family Appeals for Help Amid Financial Crisis

Doctors have advised that advanced treatment outside Odisha may be required. However, the family has expressed financial helplessness in proceeding further.

His mother, Shefali Suna, made an emotional public appeal to the Odisha Government and Chief Minister, urging them to extend financial assistance to save her son’s life. Speaking to the media, she broke down in tears while pleading for urgent help.

Senior physicians Dr. Subhendu Mishra and Dr. Manoj Dokaria reiterated the gravity of the situation, confirming the severe health complications.
