The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) on Saturday announced the withdrawal of its ongoing protest at Jantar Mantar after the successful conclusion of the third round of talks with the Central Government. The decision came after the government reportedly accepted the party’s remaining key demands.

According to CJP leaders, the Centre has assured that no legal action will be taken against the protesting students, and all police cases registered in connection with the agitation will be withdrawn. The party described the government’s response as a positive step towards resolving the standoff.

Earlier, following the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, CJP had released an updated list of demands on social media, stating that the protest would continue until its remaining demands were fulfilled.

Among its key demands were:

No legal action against students who participated in the protests.

Withdrawal of all police cases registered against demonstrators.

Compensation of ₹1 crore to the family of the student who allegedly died by suicide following the NEET paper leak controversy.

A public apology from the Rapid Action Force (RAF) and the Delhi Police over their handling of the protest.

Joint Press Conference Announces Breakthrough

At a joint press conference held later in the day, Union Ministers J.P. Nadda and Jitendra Singh, along with CJP spokespersons Saurabh Das and Ashutosh Ranka, announced that the protest was being called off in the spirit of goodwill after reaching an understanding with the government.

The CJP leaders stated that one of their demands had already been fulfilled with the resignation of the Union Education Minister, while the Centre had now assured them that all police cases against the protesting students would be withdrawn and that no future action would be taken against them.

The government also assured that the family of the student who allegedly died by suicide in connection with the NEET paper leak controversy would receive the maximum compensation permissible under the applicable rules, CJP leaders claimed.

“We request all protesters to return home peacefully as the government has accepted our demands,” CJP spokesperson Saurabh Das said during the press conference.

Echoing the sentiment, CJP leader Ashutosh Ranka said, “After 36 days of protest, the government has accepted all our demands. We appeal to everyone to vacate the protest site peacefully.”

The withdrawal of the agitation marks the end of a 36-day protest at Jantar Mantar, which had become the focal point of demonstrations following the alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG 2026 examination.
