<h3 data-start="655" data-end="686">Warm Welcome in Bhubaneswar</h3>
<p data-start="688" data-end="1100">Upon his arrival at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar, Shri Kumar was accorded a warm reception by the Chief Electoral Officer, Odisha, Shri R. S. Gopalan, along with senior election officials. The Chief Election Commissioner conveyed his greetings to the people of Odisha in the Odia language and paid his respects to Lord Jagannath, marking the beginning of his official visit to the state.</p>
<h3 data-start="1102" data-end="1145">Darshan at Shree Jagannath Temple, Puri</h3>
<p data-start="1147" data-end="1521">At the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri, Shri Kumar was received by the Chief Administrator of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), Shri Arabinda Padhee; Puri District Collector Shri Dibyajyoti Parida; Superintendent of Police Shri Pratik Kumar Singh; and other senior officials. They facilitated his darshan of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra.</p>
<p data-start="1523" data-end="1942">Expressing his reverence, the Chief Election Commissioner said he believed that the divine blessings of Lord Jagannath would inspire him to discharge his constitutional duties with greater sincerity, dedication, and integrity. He also remarked that Odisha’s art, literature, and culture are ancient, distinctive, and unparalleled, and stated that he would endeavour to learn more about these traditions during his stay.</p>
<h3 data-start="1944" data-end="1993">Insight into Jagannath Culture and Traditions</h3>
<p data-start="1995" data-end="2390">Senior temple officials and servitors briefed Shri Kumar on the spiritual and cultural uniqueness of Lord Jagannath, the distinctive rituals and traditions of the temple, and the globally renowned Rath Yatra, which attracts millions of devotees each year. They also highlighted the architectural grandeur of the temple and the deep-rooted devotional practices associated with the Jagannath cult.</p>
<h3 data-start="2392" data-end="2445">Visit to UNESCO World Heritage Sun Temple, Konark</h3>
<p data-start="2447" data-end="2795">Following his visit to Puri, the Chief Election Commissioner travelled along the scenic coastal route to the world-famous Sun Temple at Konark. He was deeply impressed by the extraordinary craftsmanship and historical significance of the temple, which is a UNESCO-declared World Heritage Site built in the distinctive Kalinga style of architecture.</p>
<h3 data-start="2797" data-end="2839">Konark a Symbol of National Pride: CEC</h3>
<p data-start="2841" data-end="3281">Speaking at Konark, Shri Kumar stated that the Sun Temple is not only a symbol of Odisha’s glorious heritage but also a matter of pride and honour for the entire nation. He observed that the grandeur and intricate stone carvings of the temple reflect the prosperity of ancient India in terms of wealth, knowledge, and scientific advancement. He added that reflecting on this legacy fills one’s heart with a profound sense of national pride.</p>
<h3 data-start="3283" data-end="3332">A Memorable Spiritual and Cultural Experience</h3>
<p data-start="3334" data-end="3641">The Chief Election Commissioner noted that the Shree Jagannath Temple at Puri and the Sun Temple at Konark stand as magnificent examples of Odisha’s age-old traditions and cultural richness. He said the divine and historic experience of visiting these iconic sites would remain etched in his memory forever.</p>
<h3 data-start="3643" data-end="3705">Senior Officials Accompany the Chief Election Commissioner</h3>
<p data-start="3707" data-end="4091">During his visits to Puri and Konark, Shri Kumar was accompanied by Chief Electoral Officer, Odisha, Shri R. S. Gopalan; Additional Chief Electoral Officer Shri Sushant Kumar Mishra; Joint Chief Electoral Officer Shri Gopinath Kanhar; Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Laxmi Prasad Sahu; Smt. Anamika Singh; along with officials of the local administration and other senior officers.</p>
