<p>Odisha is witnessing severe heatwave and humid weather conditions, with Jharsuguda recording the state’s highest temperature at 44.8°C. More than 21 cities crossed the 40°C mark as the weather department issued yellow and orange warnings for several districts due to intense heat, humidity, thunderstorms and Kalbaisakhi rain.</p>

<p data-start="105" data-end="393">Odisha continues to suffer under intense heatwave conditions as temperatures and humidity levels reached dangerous levels across the state on Tuesday. While western Odisha is witnessing extreme heat, coastal districts are struggling with severe humid conditions and unbearable discomfort.</p>
<p data-start="395" data-end="525">According to the Regional Meteorological Centre, Jharsuguda recorded the highest temperature in the state at 44.8 degrees Celsius.</p>
<p data-start="527" data-end="609">As many as 21 cities across Odisha reported temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius.</p>
<h2 data-section-id="nsscd0" data-start="611" data-end="647">Several Districts Cross 42°C Mark</h2>
<p data-start="649" data-end="705">Other major temperature recordings in the state include:</p>

<li data-section-id="cpkcq3" data-start="809" data-end="831">Titlagarh – 42.3°C</li>
<li data-section-id="1bgtf8u" data-start="832" data-end="853">Balangir – 42.2°C</li>
</ul>
<p data-start="855" data-end="972">The weather department has warned that temperatures may rise by another 2 to 3 degrees Celsius from Wednesday onward.</p>
<h2 data-section-id="1wejsqr" data-start="974" data-end="1013">Coastal Odisha Faces Severe Humidity</h2>
<p data-start="1015" data-end="1172">Along with rising temperatures, high humidity levels have worsened conditions in coastal districts, making the weather extremely uncomfortable for residents.</p>
<p data-start="1174" data-end="1265">The Meteorological Centre has predicted intense heat and humid weather in the districts of:</p>

<li data-section-id="2yoel2" data-start="1348" data-end="1356">Puri</li>
<li data-section-id="3we08r" data-start="1357" data-end="1368">Khordha</li>
<li data-section-id="3578qr" data-start="1369" data-end="1381">Nayagarh</li>
<li data-section-id="1uvedom" data-start="1382" data-end="1392">Ganjam</li>
<li data-section-id="1whjwmh" data-start="1393" data-end="1405">Gajapati</li>

<p data-start="1431" data-end="1535">A Yellow Warning has been issued for these districts due to the prevailing heat and humidity conditions.</p>
<h2 data-section-id="132uvwq" data-start="1537" data-end="1581">Thunderstorm and Kalbaisakhi Alert Issued</h2>
<p data-start="1583" data-end="1729">At the same time, the weather department has also issued an Orange Warning for thunderstorms, lightning and Kalbaisakhi rain in several districts.</p>

<p data-start="1902" data-end="1994">Officials have advised people in these regions to remain alert during thunderstorm activity.</p>
<h2 data-section-id="6tkxer" data-start="1996" data-end="2035">Monsoon Likely to Become Active Soon</h2>
<p data-start="2037" data-end="2179">Meanwhile, weather conditions are gradually becoming favourable for the advancement of the southwest monsoon over the next three to four days.</p>
<p data-start="2181" data-end="2387" data-is-last-node="" data-is-only-node="">The India Meteorological Department has predicted that the monsoon is likely to reach Kerala by May 26, raising hopes of relief from the ongoing heatwave conditions in Odisha and other parts of the country.</p>
