Pitabasa Panda, a well-known lawyer and BJP leader, was viciously killed by unidentified assailants while returning home in Brahmabag, Baidyanathpur PS area, around 10 PM. The incident raises serious concerns about the safety of individuals who openly expose corruption in the state.

According to eyewitnesses, two motorcycle-borne attackers approached Panda near his residence and fired indiscriminately, hitting him in the chest. The 49-year-old member of the Odisha State Bar Council, known for his fearless stance against corruption, was rushed to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in critical condition. Tragically, doctors declared him dead upon arrival, leaving the local community in deep shock and grief.
