Amid the growing global oil crisis triggered by the situation in West Asia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently appealed to citizens to reduce unnecessary expenses, especially petrol consumption, and adopt fuel-saving practices.

Responding to the Prime Minister’s call, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has decided to reduce the number of vehicles in his official convoy by half.

In a significant move aimed at promoting fuel conservation, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has reportedly cut down the size of his personal security convoy by 50 percent.

The Chief Minister has also urged people across Odisha to reduce dependence on private vehicles and increasingly use public transport whenever possible.

He advised citizens to avoid unnecessary vehicle usage and use cars only for essential purposes. According to the Chief Minister, such collective efforts can help conserve fuel and reduce pressure caused by the global oil situation.

Call for Responsible Spending

Apart from fuel conservation, Mohan Majhi also appealed to people to control unnecessary expenses during the current economic uncertainty.

He advised citizens to avoid unnecessary foreign travel and spend cautiously, including limiting non-essential purchases such as gold.
