Investigators traced the silver ring back to a local jewellery store located near the crime spot. Jeweller Kunu Sahu identified the ring as belonging to a friend of the victim, offering a new lead to the police. The teenage victim, who suffered 70–75% burn injuries, underwent skin grafting surgery at AIIMS Delhi.
