Tamil Nadu Witnesses Fierce Political Battle

In Tamil Nadu, the electoral contest has primarily shaped into a battle between the DMK-Congress alliance and the AIADMK-led NDA coalition. Senior leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Udhayanidhi Stalin, K. Annamalai, and Karti Chidambaram, actively campaigned across key constituencies.

The NDA campaign also saw participation from prominent leaders such as Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjrapu Ram Mohan Naidu, who addressed rallies in Coimbatore. Prime Minister Narendra Modi held four major rallies in the state on Sunday, further intensifying the political atmosphere.

Opposition and Ruling Parties Trade Sharp Attacks

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge strongly criticized the Prime Minister, accusing him of neglecting official duties due to election campaigning. He also echoed Mamata Banerjee’s concerns about Modi’s alleged political ambitions in West Bengal.

Rahul Gandhi, campaigning in Tamil Nadu, also launched sharp attacks on the Prime Minister, escalating the national-level political rhetoric.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh launched a strong attack on the TMC, alleging that the party has pushed West Bengal into “anarchy.” He also announced that if BJP comes to power in the state, it would form a “Durga Bahini” to ensure women’s safety.

Addressing a rally in Sainthia, Birbhum district, Singh further promised the implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission benefits for state government employees.
