After years of user demand, WhatsApp is finally rolling out a built-in message scheduling feature, allowing users to compose texts in advance and have them delivered automatically at a chosen date and time.

The long-awaited tool is expected to simplify everything from birthday wishes to business reminders—without the need for alarms or third-party workarounds.

The feature was discovered in the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS (version 26.7.10.72) available through TestFlight, according to reports by WABetaInfo.

Although not yet widely available—even among beta users—the presence of the feature in the app’s code suggests a broader rollout could happen soon.

How the Scheduling Feature Works

The upcoming feature is designed to be simple and user-friendly:

• Type your message as usual

• Select the desired date and time

• Confirm scheduling

Users will also have access to a dedicated section within the chat info screen to:

• View scheduled messages

• Edit them before sending

• Delete them if needed

Importantly, recipients will not be notified that a message was pre-scheduled, preserving a natural conversation flow.

No More Third-Party Workarounds

Until now, iPhone users relied on Apple’s Shortcuts app to automate message sending, while Android users often turned to third-party apps—raising concerns about privacy and data security.

By integrating scheduling directly into WhatsApp, the company aims to provide a safer and more seamless experience without requiring external tools.
