The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced the Indian squad for the much-anticipated Australia tour, beginning October 19, 2025. Shubman Gill to Lead in ODIs
In a significant decision, the selectors have handed over the ODI captaincy to Shubman Gill, while Rohit Sharma has been relieved of his leadership duties. Rohit, however, continues as a senior batsman in the squad. This marks the first time since December 2021 that he will play without additional responsibilities. Virat Kohli, returning after a seven-month break, is also back in the ODI setup, making this tour a much-awaited comeback for him.

The team will miss the services of pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, who has been rested following the ongoing West Indies Test series. Injuries have sidelined Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya, further deepening the absence of established names.
