RCB Cricketer Yash Dayal Hits Back at Sexual Harassment Claims with Theft Allegations

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) pacer Yash Dayal has filed a counter-complaint against serious allegations of random sexual harassment against him, tightening up a legal tussle that has drawn much public attention. The 27-year-old cricketer, who was booked by a woman from Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, on allegations of cheating her on the false promise of marriage, has accused her of stealing his iPhone and MacBook and borrowing cash worth between ₹5,000 and ₹3 lakh without returning it. Dayal has now appealed to the Prayagraj police to file a case and has also submitted a three-page complaint at khuldabad police station.

Dayal’s Side of the Story
In his reply, Dayal claims he met the woman via Instagram in 2021 and the two began communicating more closely. She established ongoing requests for cash for her along with her loved ones’ healthcare demands, pledging to endure it—but never doing this. “She has taken lakhs of rupees from me,” Dayal said, accusing her of stealing his laptop and iPhone, among other things. He claims to have proof for his claims and has asked that the woman and her associates be the subject of a formal complaint.

The Original Allegations
The row broke out when the woman lodged an FIR against Dayal on July 7, 2025, with the Indirapuram police under Section 69 for sexual exploitation by means of fraud in the famous Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, a non-bailable offence punishable with a maximum prison sentence of 10 years. During a five-year alleged relationship during which Dayal made false promises of marriage, introduced YN to his family, and cut off all her sources of income—she also claimed to have been subjected to psychological, physical and financial abuse by him. She also alleged she had proof in the form of chat records and photographs and said after she found out Dayal was with other and multiple women, she took legal recourse to ensure Dayal ‘does not deceive another woman and use her innocence against her.’

A Complex Legal Battle
Dayal’s counter-complaint adds a twist into the case. The woman, who previously worked for the ed-tech firm, alleged that she often stayed overnight at Dayal’s home and was close to his family, a claim that his father has since rejected, the Financial Chronicle reported. Still further, she stated that Dayal’s family misled her by convincing her to create even greater bonds of trust under the pretext of getting married. However, Dayal is not only alleging harassment but has also turned the story around with allegations of theft and financial fraud against Castle and has really expanded the tit-for-tat exchange. Ghaziabad police have said they are investigating both complaints and that a notice to Dayal had already been issued to record his statement. Her statement is to be taken before a magistrate, and she will undergo a medical examination.

Public and Legal Scrutiny
With posts on social media resurfacing old Instagram interactions where Dayal would comment affectionately on the woman’s Instagram posts, the case has created heated discourse. In the meantime, more women have also surfaced with claims of similar misconduct by the cricketer himself. While Dayal, a cornerstone of RCB’s 2025 IPL championship run, rides this storm, the law will dictate what comes next. In the meantime, both sides are holding strong, the woman vowing to fight for justice and Dayal claiming his innocence and accusing the woman of deception. Police are still investigating, and the outcome is still in the air.
