A COVID-19 patient has been identified at Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati (MKCG) Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur, prompting health authorities to activate precautionary measures while assuring the public that there is no cause for panic.
According to hospital officials, a woman tested positive for COVID-19 and has been admitted to the hospital’s dedicated isolation ward. She is currently undergoing treatment under the close supervision of doctors.
The hospital administration said the patient’s condition is stable and that she is not exhibiting any severe symptoms. Medical teams are regularly monitoring her health and providing treatment as per the prescribed clinical protocols.
MKCG Hospital Superintendent stated that all necessary precautionary and treatment measures have been put in place and urged the public not to panic. The official emphasized that the patient is receiving appropriate medical care and the situation remains under control.
The Odisha Health Department has also confirmed the COVID-19 case. Special Secretary of the Health Department, Professor Dr. Santosh Kumar Mishra, said the department is closely monitoring the situation and has advised people to remain vigilant while avoiding unnecessary fear.
Health authorities have urged the public to follow basic preventive measures, including washing hands regularly, exercising caution in crowded places, and consulting a doctor if they experience symptoms of illness.
Following the detection of the case, MKCG Hospital has strengthened its preparedness and safety protocols. Officials said the patient’s condition is being continuously monitored, while contact tracing and necessary health screening of individuals who may have come into contact with the patient are underway.
The Health Department reiterated that there is no need for panic, but advised citizens to remain alert, undergo testing if they develop symptoms, and adhere to recommended public health guidelines. Officials added that the situation is under constant surveillance and appropriate action will be taken if required.
