Shaktikanta Das Reviews World Skill Center Infrastructure, Emphasizes Future-Ready Skill Development and Industry Collaboration

Shaktikanta Das, Principal Secretary to the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, visited the World Skill Center today, highlighting the increasing focus on advanced skill development as a key driver of India’s economic growth.

Review of Advanced Training Infrastructure
During his visit, Shri Das inspected the state-of-the-art Centres of Excellence at the World Skill Center, including Vertical Transportation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration, Beauty & Wellness, and the School of Hospitality. He appreciated the institution’s modern infrastructure, innovative training methods, and strong emphasis on industry-oriented, outcome-based education.

Senior Officials Accompany the Visit
The visit was attended by senior officials, including Smt. Anu Garg, Chief Secretary of Odisha, and Shri Bhupendra Singh Poonia, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Skill Development & Technical Education (SD&TE), Government of Odisha.

Interaction with Leadership and Faculty
Shri Das interacted with the leadership team of the World Skill Center, including Shri Rashmi Ranjan Mohapatra, CEO; Shri Pinaki Patnaik, Additional Secretary, SD&TE and COO, WSC; and Dr. Subhanga Kishore Das, Principal. The discussions focused on strengthening skill training quality and aligning programs with global industry requirements.
