Online applications open March 26 as BSE Odisha schedules OTET 2026 exam for May 29 in two shifts

The Board of Secondary Education Odisha has officially released the notification for the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) 2026, offering a major opportunity for aspiring teachers across the state.

As per the announcement, the examination will be conducted on May 29, 2026.

Online Registration Begins March 26

Candidates can begin their online application process from March 26, 2026. The registration window will remain open until midnight of April 9, 2026, while the last date for fee payment is set at 11:45 PM on the same day.

Applicants are advised to complete the process through the official website and carefully review all details before final submission.

Two Papers for Primary and Upper Primary Teachers

OTET 2026 will be conducted in two shifts:

  • Paper I (Classes 1 to 5): 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM
  • Paper II (Classes 6 to 8): 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM

Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria can appear for one or both papers depending on their teaching aspirations.

Admit Cards Available from May 15

The board has announced that admit cards will be available for download starting May 15, 2026. Both fresh graduates and in-service teachers can access their hall tickets online.

Exam Pattern and Qualifying Marks

The test will consist of multiple-choice questions, with 150 questions in each paper. There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.

Minimum qualifying marks are as follows:

  • General category: 60%
  • SC/ST/OBC/SEBC/PwD: 50%

Candidates Advised to Check Eligibility Carefully

The BSE Odisha has urged candidates to thoroughly review eligibility criteria and syllabus before applying. Once the application is submitted, no changes will be allowed in personal details or subject selection.
