Meerut Blue Drum Murder Case: Court Convicts Muskan Rastogi and Sahil Shukla

A court in Meerut has convicted Muskan Rastogi and her alleged lover Sahil Shukla in the widely discussed murder case involving Saurabh Rajput. The court found both accused guilty in the killing and subsequent attempt to conceal the crime.

According to the prosecution, Saurabh was killed on March 3, 2025. Muskan and Sahil allegedly disposed of his body after cutting it into pieces and placing the remains inside a blue drum that was sealed with cement.

The court convicted both accused after 126 hearings in the case. More than 22 witnesses reportedly testified during the proceedings. Both Muskan and Sahil are currently in jail.

However, the court has not yet announced the sentence. The sentencing is expected to be decided after a further hearing, reportedly within around 15 days. The prosecution has sought either life imprisonment or the death penalty, while Saurabh’s family has also demanded the death penalty.

During the hearing, the two convicts were produced before the court through video conferencing. Lawyers said that neither spoke during the proceedings.

According to the police investigation, Saurabh was allegedly rendered unconscious with intoxicants before Sahil attacked him with a knife. The prosecution further alleged that the accused subsequently cut the body into pieces and concealed it in the cement-filled drum.

Police said Muskan and Sahil fled to Himachal Pradesh after the murder. They were arrested on March 18 and 19, 2025, respectively, and subsequently produced before the court.

The case attracted widespread attention because of the alleged manner in which the body was concealed and the subsequent investigation.
