Odisha Cabinet Approves 11 Key Proposals in High-Level Meeting
Odisha Cabinet clears 11 major proposals, focusing on irrigation, transport infrastructure, power supply, and labour reforms across the state
Cabinet Meeting Chaired by Chief Minister
A crucial meeting of the Odisha State Cabinet was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. During the meeting, a total of 11 important proposals were approved.
The meeting took place at Lok Seva Bhavan, and Chief Secretary Anu Garg briefed the media about the decisions taken.
Irrigation Projects to Benefit Farmers
Among the major decisions, the Cabinet approved the tender for underground pipeline work under the Hadua irrigation project. This project will benefit villages in Badamba, Narsinghpur, and Tigiria blocks of Cuttack district.
Additionally, the Parbati Giri Mega Lift Irrigation Project received significant attention. Water will be lifted from the Hirakud Dam to ensure irrigation facilities. Around 6,210 hectares of land in Sambalpur district are expected to benefit from this initiative.
₹3,400 Crore Bus Stand Development Plan
The Cabinet also approved the Atal Bus Stand Scheme with an estimated budget of ₹3,400 crore. Under this scheme, 318 bus stands across the state will be modernized to improve public transport infrastructure.
New Power Infrastructure in Keonjhar
A new MVA substation will be constructed in Keonjhar district at a cost of ₹1,647 crore. This project is expected to strengthen the power supply system and support industrial and domestic demand in the region.
Changes in Labour Service Rules
The Cabinet has approved amendments to the Odisha Labour Service Rules. As part of the changes, previously appointed Assistant Labour Officers (ALO) and Regional Labour Inspectors (RLI) will be exempted from departmental examinations.
Focus on Infrastructure and Governance
The decisions taken during the Cabinet meeting reflect the state government’s focus on improving irrigation, transport, power infrastructure, and administrative efficiency. These initiatives are expected to boost development and provide benefits to both rural and urban populations across Odisha.
