Odisha Cabinet Approves Five Major Proposals Aimed at Public Welfare
Five Key Decisions Across Four Departments to Boost Transport, Agriculture, and Infrastructure Development in Odisha
The 29th Cabinet meeting of the Odisha government, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, concluded with the approval of five key proposals across four departments. These decisions are expected to directly benefit the people of the state and strengthen Odisha’s developmental framework.

200 E-Buses to Roll Out Across the State
To promote eco-friendly public transport, the Cabinet approved the operation of 200 electric buses for the next ten years. Initially, 25 buses each will be introduced in Angul, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, and Baripada, while 50 buses each will operate in Berhampur and Sambalpur. The project will involve an investment of ₹952.56 crore.
State-Funded E-Bus Initiative
The Odisha government will bear the entire cost of the e-bus project, with ₹512 crore allocated for the first five years. This decision reflects the government’s commitment to promoting green mobility and sustainable transport infrastructure.
Livestock Development and Fisheries Boost
The Cabinet approved the Small Animal Development Sub-Scheme under the Livestock Prosperity Program, with an estimated cost of ₹294.36 crore over four years. The scheme aims to benefit 23,735 farmers and enhance per capita fish production by 5.2 kg and meat production by 7.4 kg annually.
Modernization of Aviation Infrastructure
To improve air connectivity and logistics, ₹4.182 crore has been sanctioned for aviation infrastructure development and modernization. This includes maintenance, repair, cargo, logistics, and technology upgrades to strengthen the state’s aviation sector.
Crop Diversification Program
The Cabinet also approved a three-year crop diversification program with a total outlay of ₹1,523.98 crore. This initiative aims to improve farmers’ income and ensure sustainable agricultural growth.
Chief Minister Majhi emphasized that work on all approved proposals will begin promptly to ensure timely implementation for the benefit of the people.
