Odisha Farmers Get Rs 800 Additional Input Assistance For Paddy

Bhubaneswar: Keeping the promises to people in mind and serving the interest of farmers of Odisha , the State Government has taken the historic decision to provide an additional input assistance of Rs 800 over and above the MSP of Rs 2,300 for paddy, thus making it to Rs 3,100 per quintal.

Input Assistance

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in a mega event, organised by the Food Supply and Consumer Welfare Department at Sohela in Balangir district disbursed the input assistance, in the presence of thousands of farmers .

 Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment, Energy Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister  Suresh Pujari, Minister of Food Supply and Consumer Welfare Krushna Chandra Patra were also present on the occasion.  Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Women and Child Development, Mission Shakti Pravati Parida was present in Puri, while Minister for Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water, Rural Development Rabi Narayan Naik graced the event in Sambalpur.

At present, while the government procures paddy from farmers during the kharif season , the minimum support price is paid directly to their bank accounts within 48 hours. Odisha paddy input assistance.

Nodal officers have been appointed in each mandi to keep a close watch on the paddy procurement process. In case of any complaint, farmers can directly call 1967helpline.

 

Similarly, a task force has been formed in the border districts to ensure that lorries carrying paddy from outside the state do not enter in to Odisha’s territorial areas.
