Odisha Students Showcase Fintech Innovation at Global Financial Forum in Tokyo
Seven students from Odisha present innovative SME fintech solution at an international summit in Japan.
In a significant milestone for Odisha’s higher education sector, a group of students from the state represented Odisha at the Global Financial Forum in Tokyo, Japan, where they presented an innovative fintech project developed under the Certification Programme in Fintech & Insurtech (CFI).
The achievement highlights Odisha’s growing presence in the global fintech ecosystem and reflects the state government’s efforts to equip students with advanced digital finance skills.
Global Collaboration to Build Fintech Talent
The Certification Programme in Fintech & Insurtech (CFI) has been launched by the Government of Odisha in collaboration with the National University of Singapore – Asian Institute of Digital Finance (NUS–AIDF) and the Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN).
The programme aims to create innovative, resilient and inclusive financial ecosystems by providing students with advanced knowledge and practical skills in financial technology and insurance technology aligned with global digital finance trends.
Capstone Project Participation
As part of the programme, 195 students participated in a capstone project where they worked on innovative solutions to address real-world financial challenges.
Based on their performance and project outcomes, seven students were selected to represent Odisha at the Global Financial Forum in Tokyo. The forum provided them an opportunity to present their work and interact with global experts from the fintech and financial services sectors.

Innovative Fintech Solution: “TranchiFy”
At the forum, the students presented their project titled “TranchiFy – A Trust-Based Working Capital Platform for Next-Generation SMEs.”
The project proposes a technology-driven platform designed to simplify access to working capital and streamline the loan application process for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
By using a trust-based digital financial framework, the platform aims to enable faster, more transparent, and efficient credit access, addressing one of the key financial challenges faced by SMEs.
Exposure to Global Fintech Ecosystem
After successfully presenting their project at the international forum, the students have returned to Odisha. Their participation in the summit offered valuable exposure to the global fintech ecosystem and emerging trends in digital finance.
Strengthening Odisha’s Digital Finance Talent
Through initiatives like the CFI programme, the Government of Odisha aims to build a strong talent pool in fintech and digital finance by equipping students with job-ready skills for careers in banking, insurance, and financial technology sectors.
The achievement also underscores Odisha’s growing engagement with global academic and technology networks and reflects the state’s commitment to preparing its youth for opportunities in the rapidly evolving digital finance landscape.
