Temperature Drops as Cold Winds Sweep Odisha
Northern Cold Winds Lower Temperatures; Mostly Dry Weather Predicted Across Odisha for the Week
Residents of Odisha are set to experience a noticeable drop in temperature as cold winds from the north sweep across the state, according to the Regional Meteorological Centre. Director Manorama Mohanty has issued a warning that temperatures are expected to fall, while the state’s meteorological department predicts mostly dry weather for the next seven days.
Northern Winds to Bring Chill
The meteorological department has reported that northern cold winds are influencing the state’s climate, leading to a rise in the intensity of cold. “The temperature is expected to decrease further in many areas due to these northerly winds,” said Director Manorama Mohanty.
Temperature Forecast Across Key Cities
The Regional Meteorological Department has forecasted the following minimum temperatures for several districts today (Saturday):

Below 15°C: Phulbani – 13°C, Koraput – 14°C, Rourkela – 15°C

16°C: Bhadrak, Kendujhar, Dhenkanal, Jharasuguda

17°C: Sundargarh, Angul

18°C: Nabarangpur, Bhawanipatna, Balangir, Cuttack

19°C: Malkangiri, Sonepur, Khordha, Baripada

20°C or higher: Other districts
Dry Weather Expected, Clouds Likely Soon
The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack are expected to remain mainly dry today. However, the meteorological department predicts a shift in weather conditions from tomorrow, with the possibility of cloudy skies.
Residents are advised to prepare for colder mornings and cooler nights as temperatures continue to drop across the state over the coming week.
