Created Through Reorganisation of Mayurbhanj Police District

The Odisha Government had reorganised the erstwhile Mayurbhanj Police District in August 2025 and created the Rairangpur Police District. With its formal inauguration, the district has now become fully operational.

The new police district comprises two police subdivisions and fourteen police stations, enabling faster and more accessible police services for residents.

Improved Law and Order, Faster Police Response

Officials said the creation of the Rairangpur Police District will strengthen law enforcement, improve crime control mechanisms and ensure quicker police response to emergencies. The move is also expected to enhance public safety and bring policing services closer to the people.

The initiative reflects Odisha Police’s commitment to citizen service, public safety and good governance. Authorities believe the new district will further strengthen public trust in the police system while improving the overall delivery of law enforcement services in the region.

Milestone in Odisha Police’s Citizen-Centric Approach

The launch of the Rairangpur Police District is being viewed as another important milestone in Odisha Police’s mission of “Public Service and Public Safety.” The new administrative setup is expected to contribute significantly to maintaining law and order while ensuring efficient and quality policing for the people of the region.
